The award recognizes outstanding videos--hobbyist/student produced with no
budget and professionally produced with a budget--released in the three years 2014
through 2016, that creatively and accurately educate viewers about North America's
railroading history. The documentaries must be easy to follow, concise, and deliver a
message that is clearly understood.
The winner in each category will receive national recognition through the R&LHS, an
award certificate, and $250.
In film, the scope/budget/parties involved have much more influence on the final product
than a single photographer and the image. That is the reason for two categories.
Members may send suggestions by May 30. Nominations are made by a
subcommittee of the R&LHS awards committee.
