CN Train No. 10 from Prince Rupert, British Columbia, departs from Red Pass Junction, B.C., on its way to Jasper, Alberta, with a swollen consist of cars. The date is July 2, 1977. In less than a year, VIA Rail Canada would take over CN’s passenger operations, followed by its acquisition of CP Rail operations in fall 1978.
