The Leeds Historical Society, in partnership with the Mid-South Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society, is pleased to announce the grand opening of a new exhibit, Terminal Station: Birmingham's Great Temple of Travel, at the Historic Leeds Depot.
Mark your calendar now for Saturday, August 2nd to attend the grand opening of the "Terminal Station, Birmingham's Great Temple of Travel" exhibit on display at the Historic Leeds Depot. The event will begin at 10:00 AM with brief introductory remarks, followed by a book signing by Marvin Clemons and the opening of the exhibit and depot Agent's Office for viewing. Light refreshments will be served.
10:30 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. Exhibit open for viewing and book signing.
The event will feature a compelling new exhibit that explores the architectural splendor and historic significance of Birmingham's iconic Terminal Station.
A preview and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held the day prior, on Friday, August 1, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Leeds Depot.
This exhibit commemorates Birmingham's iconic Terminal Station, hailed as the "Great Temple of Travel" and regarded as one of the grandest railway stations ever constructed.
