We realize that the next meeting of the Mid-South Chapter will be on Saturday during the Easter weekend, but that is the date our speaker is available. We hope you will be able to set aside a couple of hours on April 8th to join us for the Chapter meeting and presentation as indicated below.

PROGRAM TITLE: Norfolk & Western 611 Behind the Scenes Restoration and Operations 2014-Present

SPEAKER: Zac McGinnis (Steam Operations Corporation/N&W 611 Engine Crew)

Location: Historic Leeds Depot

This presentation in conjunction with the Virginia Museum of Transportation and Steam Operations Corporation will take you behind the scenes of the restoration of N&W 611 as well as the operations of the locomotive to the present day. Questions are encouraged throughout and at the end of the presentation!

N&W 611 is the sole survivor of the famous Class J 4-8-4 locomotives constructed by the N&W railway and the most modern steam passenger locomotive ever built in the United States. The 611 has a storied history and a fanbase that stretches worldwide.
